Job description

Be part of the action at Bon Secours Wellness Arena! We’re looking for a Part-Time Camera Operator to help bring our live events to life. From fast-paced hockey games to unforgettable concerts, you’ll be behind the lens capturing the energy, excitement, and moments fans don’t want to miss.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate cameras expertly to deliver high-quality live footage for events
  • Collaborate with the Technical Director and Video Engineer to set up and connect cameras with the Production Control Room or Remote Production Truck
  • Adjust camera movements and settings based on the direction of the Technical Director to ensure optimal shot composition and framing
  • Work alongside the Show Director and fellow Camera Operators to coordinate camera placement and operation throughout the event
  • Assist with camera setup and maintenance, including checking equipment, adjusting settings, and troubleshooting any issues
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols while contributing to a professional atmosphere
  • Ability to work event schedule including evenings, nights and weekends

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a camera operator in broadcast production, focusing on live events
  • Experience with PTZ camera operations and shading
  • Familiarity with current broadcast industry standards; previous experience with BSWA is a plus
  • Proficient in operating various types of cameras including studio/remote production cameras
  • Adept in camera movements, including zoom, tilt, pan, focus, and dolly techniques
  • Understanding of shot composition and framing techniques
  • Strong computer skills along with a creative eye for detail
  • Ability to excel in fast-paced, high-pressure live event environments
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate as part of a team
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical requirements include the ability to work in high-noise environments and lift up to 50 lbs regularly

Pay Frequency: Bi-weekly; Direct Deposit required.

Hourly Rate Range: starting $20 per hour, depending on experience level; FLSA status: non-exempt

Parking: Off-site/free employee parking available

Work Shifts: Average 5 hours per event

  • Times/Days: varies; mainly evenings/nights and weekends; few day shifts available depending on event schedule.
  • Minimum: must be available to work at least 1 shift every month
