POSITION: Public Safety Associate – Part-time Hourly
LOCATIONS: Busch Annapolis Library, Brooklyn Park Library, Riviera Beach Library
SALARY RANGE: $25.45 - $31.68/hour
HOURS: 20 hours/week
Overall Position Purpose: Presents a welcoming, confident demeanor when interacting with a diverse public. Demonstrates exceptional communication skills to help prevent disruptions to public library services. Builds relationships with customers while discerning needs, redirecting requests, and managing unexpected behaviors. Assists customers in adhering to the library code of conduct. Advises customers and staff in safety procedures or events impacting the safety of building occupants. May act as liaison with emergency services and local agencies.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from a standard high school or equivalency program; must be at least 21 years of age or older with two years of management or supervisor level customer service experience. Prior experience related to public safety, crisis response or security preferred.
