In this important role, you will help keep library materials organized and accessible while assisting patrons and supporting daily library operations. About This Role:
As a Page, you will play an important role in ensuring library materials are organized, accessible, and presented in a welcoming environment for patrons. Key responsibilities include:
  • Shelving library materials accurately using alphabetical, numerical, and Dewey Decimal systems
  • Providing excellent internal and external customer service
  • Maintaining the neatness and presentation of the library collection
  • Performing opening and closing duties, including shelf reading, checking in materials, and loading/unloading the book drop room
  • Creating and maintaining engaging displays to highlight library collections and resources
  • Assisting with administrative tasks, including processing materials and generating basic reports
  • Participating in staff meetings, training, and onboarding of incoming staff as needed
  • Assisting with shifting and reorganizing library collections as needed
  • Supporting community outreach efforts and library programs
  • Handling cash transactions and assisting with circulation-related activities
  • Assisting with passport services, as needed
  • Transporting and redistributing library materials weighing up to 20 pounds
  • May provide passport services

Minimum Requirements:
  • 8th grade education or higher
  • Must be at least 16 years old

Preferences:
Experience filing and organizing materials using alphabetical and numerical systems
Experience working in a public library, bookstore, or similar customer-focused environment
Prior inventory or shelving experience
Scheduling flexibility
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, and virtual meeting platforms such as WebEx
Special Requirements: The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.
Work Schedule: This is a part-time, non-exempt 20 hour a week position. Library hours of operation are Monday-Wednesday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Thursday- Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and weekends are a regular part of schedule rotations. Scheduling flexibility is imperative and work hours may vary depending upon the needs of the library.
Hiring Salary Range: $20.00 / hourly
