Job description

The City of Friendswood is currently accepting applications for a part-time Library Page, in the Library Department. This position will shelve books and audio-visual materials; to keep the library's shelves neat, and to assist at the front desk as needed.
Work Performed:
  • Shelves books and other materials, in numerical or alphabetical order.
  • "Reads" shelves to assure books are in order.
  • Straightens library at closing, by picking up all items that have been left lying on tables, etc. and performing "in-house check-in".
  • Occasionally collects and removes trash.
  • Assists in securing the building at closing.
  • Assists at checkout desk and drive-through window as scheduled or called upon.

Education and Experience: Some high school, diploma or G.E.D preferred. Must be available to work alternate Saturdays and at least two nights per week from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to work well in a team environment; to be tactful and patient with callers, visitors, and fellow employees.
