Position Information
This position will assist the Coordinator with historic preservation of the county's historic sites and museums, and act as a frontline interpreter in historic and natural programs at Parks, Schools, and Libraries county-wide for the Natural Resources unit of Cobb PARKS. This position will also be responsible for conducting light trail maintenance and inspections.
Essential Functions
Performs customer service functions: provides information or assistance regarding services, activities, forms, procedures, fees, or other issues; responds to routine questions and complaints; researches problems and initiates problem resolution; and refers complaints/problems to appropriate personnel.
Processes participant registrations, court reservations, tournament registrations, and other scheduled services and events: receives requests for classes, court times, or other scheduled services; reviews registration forms for accuracy and completeness; enters information into online database and calendars; collects and records fees; and maintains related documentation.
Prepares daily financial reports and deposits: counts monies received; balances cash drawers to system reports; audits transactions to locate and correct any discrepancies; closes out cash drawers; prepares and submits deposit; and maintains related documentation.
Promotes recreational programming and events: creates and publishes promotional materials such as schedules, news releases, flyers, brochures, posters, signs, websites, social media posts etc.
Provides administrative support: conducts tours; attends meetings; answers the telephone; prepares attendance and registration reports, memos, correspondence, and other files and records; copies and files documents; enters computer data, etc.; and maintains inventory of supplies, forms and equipment.
Prepares facilities according to daily schedule: opens and closes facility; unlocks and locks doors; turns lights on or off; disarms and sets alarm; moves, sets up, and tears down tables, chairs, etc.; and performs routine cleaning duties such as emptying trash, sweeping floors, etc.
Organizes, instructs and supervises assigned recreational activities, which may include youth programs, senior programs, special needs programs, fitness programs and classes, sports leagues and clinics, after school and summer programs, arts and crafts programs, theater and performing arts programs and special events, or nature and environmental programs: gathers supplies and equipment; verifies completion of required forms for each participant; teaches classes, clinics, and skills; provides information and direction; performs assessments; and ensures all activities comply with established rules, policies, procedures and safety standards.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required, supplemented by vocational or technical training in customer service or related field; supplemented by two years of experience in customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
Background in outdoor recreation and leading programs that include Planting, harvesting, watering and general plant care related to agriculture. Any experience in nature conservation or education.
Licenses and Certifications
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Physical Abilities
Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station.
Sensory Requirements
Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors
Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
