Part-Time
St. Cecilia School, located at 440 Norton Road in Columbus, is seeking a part-time Library Educational Aide for the 2026/2027 school year.
Job Title: Catholic School Library Educational Aide
Start Date: August 12, 2026
FLSA Code: Non-exempt (Hourly)
Responsible to: Building Principal
Primary Job Function:
An elementary school library aide in our Catholic school maintains the library, manages circulation while fostering a nurturing, Christ-centered environment.
Key duties include:
  • checking materials in/out
  • shelving books
  • assisting students
  • reading to children
  • monitoring student behavior during library visits, ensuring a safe and respectful environment
  • repairing materials
  • assisting teachers in finding resources
  • upholding school policies

The role may also involve promoting Catholic values, assisting with book fairs, and organizing displays.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is generally required.
  • Prior experience working in a school or library setting is preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer skills (e.g., MS Office, circulation software).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students and staff.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lb and move, stand, or kneel to shelve books.

Requirements:
  • Hold an appropriate aide license or be eligible to obtain one before starting to work
  • Current satisfactory FBI and BCI background checks
  • Have attended or be willing to attend a Virtus Protecting God's Children training
