Job Description:

Primary Responsibility

Under the supervision of the Library Director this position serves and assists the students, staff and faculty of the campus as well as the greater community, by providing excellent library service to its respective patrons.

*This is a part-time position which is limited to 28 hours per CMC's workweek. CMC's workweek is Saturday through Friday.

This Library Aid position will be scheduled approximately 10-15 hours per week, including nights and weekends, days and times may vary.

Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards)

Education and experience sufficient to meet the rigors of the position. Examples may include a Associate's Degree or two-year college certificate, vocational school or technical program beyond high school, business college, or similar training efforts with 1-year of full time related work experience, or High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of full time related work experience. Or equivalent education and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill and abilities to perform the functions of the position.

Special Skills or abilities directly applicable to the position: Basic knowledge of computers and computing, including basic software and online searching ability, ability, and desire to learn new technologies, a strong commitment to customer service, good communication skills, including English proficiency. Exhibit exceptional verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Maintain confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism. Organize and prioritize work while exercising flexibility, teamwork, and humor.

Colorado Mountain College requires that employees perform their assigned duties within the State of Colorado. The hiring pay rate is $ 22.84 per hour. Benefits include retirement contribution, annual and sick time, mental health resources, and tuition benefit. CMC utilizes a wage progression compensation model that accounts for a candidate's skill and experience. Although a hiring rate is listed, this will be set commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

Minimum Qualifications:

Essential Duties

This position provides entry level reference, circulation, and technical assistance to patrons; basic cataloging and processing of materials, answering the phone, greeting library patrons, shelving materials.

Supervision Received

The position reports to a designated supervisor. Position usually works within the framework of responsibilities but may require guidance at times.

Supervisory Responsibility

Position has no supervisory responsibility.

Special Conditions of Employment

Successful completion of a background check including a motor vehicles records report required. Incumbents in this position will adhere to all safety and compliance policies of Colorado Mountain College while performing all duties assigned.

Working Conditions

This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oralcommunication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally. Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally.
