LATIN DANCE INSTRUCTOR PART TIME
OLIVE-HARVEY COLLEGE
Consider joining Olive-Harvey College Continuing Education Department as a Part-Time Dance Instructor. You will have the opportunity to inspire, motivate, and empower others to succeed. Olive-Harvey College's Continuing Education Department has an exciting opportunity for an engaging, energetic and patient instructor to teach Latin dance including but not limited to salsa, bachata, cumbia, and mambo. The Dance Instructor will develop and implement an appropriate and engaging creative dance program by taking into consideration the unique abilities of each participant.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to teach using different methods and teaching styles.
Develop dance curriculum and program planning.
Demonstrate excellence in teaching dance and commitment to integrating new methods in the learning process.
Ability to inspire, motivate and empower through dance.
Prepare daily/weekly lesson plans and related activities and materials that meet participants' interests.
Implement a hands-on, creative and innovative approach to teaching and ensure that participants are fully engaged and working toward specific goals.
Adapt the curriculum and training methods to meet students' needs and abilities as necessary.
Foster confidence, self-expression and creativity.
Discuss and demonstrate various dance styles, character development, and personality projection.
Adhere to City Colleges of Chicago code of ethics, board rules and policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in working with a wide range of ages, ethnicities, and skill levels.
One year or more experience in teaching, performing, &/or directing professional dance teams of Latin dance including, but not limited to Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia, Mambo & Cha Cha Cha.
Excellent communications skills with an instructor point of view on all dances.
Salary $45.00/hour
