United Steel Fabrication LLC is seeking a dependable Landscaper / Grounds Maintenance Worker to help maintain a clean, safe, and professional appearance across our facility grounds, parking areas, entrances, and outdoor work areas.

Position Summary

The Landscaper / Grounds Maintenance Worker is responsible for mowing, trimming, weed control, general cleanup, and exterior appearance upkeep. This role helps ensure our facility remains safe, organized, and customer-ready at all times.

The ideal candidate is reliable, self-motivated, safety-minded, and takes pride in keeping outdoor areas neat and well maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mow grass, trim edges, weed-eat, and maintain landscaped areas.
  • Remove trash, debris, limbs, and loose material from grounds, parking lots, fence lines, and walkways.
  • Maintain shrubs, bushes, trees, mulch beds, gravel areas, and other exterior appearance areas.
  • Keep entrances, sidewalks, parking areas, and common outdoor areas clean and presentable.
  • Assist with seasonal grounds work such as leaf removal, storm cleanup, and minor exterior repairs.
  • Safely operate and maintain basic landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, hand tools, and related equipment.
  • Report damaged property, unsafe conditions, drainage issues, lighting concerns, or maintenance needs to management.
  • Follow company safety rules and use required personal protective equipment.
  • Support general facility cleanup and appearance projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Prior landscaping, groundskeeping, maintenance, farming, or outdoor labor experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate mowing and landscaping equipment.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks thoroughly.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, push, pull, and perform physical labor throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, dust, and normal groundskeeping conditions.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and appropriate footwear.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with zero-turn mowers, tractors, weed eaters, blowers, chainsaws, or other grounds equipment.
  • Basic mechanical ability to inspect, clean, fuel, and maintain small equipment.
  • Experience with weed control, trimming, gravel maintenance, drainage cleanup, or exterior facility upkeep.
  • Ability to identify and correct appearance or safety issues before they become problems.
Work Environment

This position is primarily outdoors around an active fabrication facility. The employee may work near vehicle traffic, equipment, shop areas, gravel lots, material storage areas, and other industrial surroundings. Safe work practices and awareness of surroundings are required at all times.
