What are part-time LabVIEW jobs?

Part-time LabVIEW jobs involve working with the LabVIEW software platform to design, develop, and test applications, usually related to data acquisition, instrument control, or automation, but on a reduced or flexible schedule. People in these roles may develop custom test systems, automate laboratory processes, or support engineering teams, all while working fewer hours than a traditional full-time position. These jobs are ideal for students, professionals seeking flexible work, or those wanting to supplement their income while gaining experience with LabVIEW.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part Time LabVIEW Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time LabVIEW Engineer, you need a solid background in electrical or computer engineering, proficiency in LabVIEW programming, and familiarity with data acquisition systems. Experience with National Instruments (NI) hardware, LabVIEW certification (such as CLAD or CLD), and version control systems are typically required. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help you excel in project-based and collaborative environments. These skills ensure reliable system development, efficient troubleshooting, and successful delivery of test and measurement solutions.

What are the typical responsibilities of a part-time LabVIEW engineer, and how does the role differ from a full-time position?

As a part-time LabVIEW engineer, you will primarily focus on designing, developing, and testing automated measurement and control systems using the LabVIEW platform. Your tasks often include writing and debugging code, collaborating with hardware engineers, and supporting ongoing projects with data analysis or troubleshooting. Compared to full-time roles, part-time positions may have a narrower focus on specific projects or phases, and you may work more independently or on a flexible schedule. This can be ideal for those seeking work-life balance while still gaining hands-on technical experience.

What is the difference between Part Time Labview vs Part Time Test Engineer?

Digital Signal Processing Electrical & Computer Engineer
The Opportunity:
What if you could use your electrical and computer engineering skills to develop next-generation electromagnetic spectrum and electronic warfare capabilities as part of a focused, forward-looking R&D organization? As a Digital Signal Processing (DSP) engineer, you understand the power behind complex systems and complex data in the RF and signals domain. That knowledge is key when it comes to designing and implementing digital signal processing for RF sensing, detecting, and responding systems. We're looking for a computer engineer with DSP experience who can use their skills to develop and demonstrate new and novel capabilities to guide the Army toward new technical solutions. Our areas of interest include signal receive and blind demodulation techniques, signal isolation and identification, waveform, complex signal generation, and adaptive techniques.
Our team develops initial implementations of emerging ideas to address Electromagnetic Spectrum Battle Management. That's why we need you, a computer engineer with a solid background in signal processing, to help us implement radio communication capabilities. You'll work in a lab environment to develop functionality for demonstration and delivery to our client. You'll directly impact the future of electromagnetic spectrum and electronic warfare by demonstrating state-of-the-art techniques to guide the client's understanding of what is possible. This is a chance to use your DSP engineering skills and understanding of RF communications while gaining experience with software defined radios (SDRs). Join us and take on exciting challenges in support of our DoD clients as we drive R&D and help define future capabilities.
Join us. The world can't wait.
You Have:
  • Experience with wireless communications systems and signal processing theory and application
  • Experience with Linux, C, C++, or Rust
