Job description

Headquartered in Battle Creek, Lifecare provides EMS coverage along with several large-scale special events. Our paramedics typically work 12 or 24-hour shifts and provide both emergent and non-emergent transport, delivering patient care under hospital-approved medical protocols. Additional opportunities for paramedics include training in critical care transport and community paramedicine.
Requirements
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid State of Michigan paramedic license
  • ACLS, CPR, and PHTLS or ITLS certified (PHTLS can be provided upon hire)
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Physically capable of meeting job requirements: lifting and moving patients, carrying medical equipment
  • Ability to pass a company-sponsored background check, drug screen, and physical
  • Ability to work professionally and cooperatively with a diverse range of people

Job Duties
  • Maintain high clinical standards in all aspects of care.
  • Safely drive and operate ambulances.
  • Provide basic life support, including CPR, airway, suction, oxygen application, bleeding control, splinting, bandaging, etc.
  • Provide advanced life support, including ACLS, airway management, medication administration, IV administration, etc.
  • Provide convalescent care, including transporting sick, injured, and convalescent patients to and from medical facilities.
  • Proficiently and safely perform patient handling, including stretcher operations, lifting, and loading.
  • Treat patients with compassion and respect.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with patients, family members, facility staff, and co-workers.
