Flexible Part-Time Schedule
Are you an experienced Emergency Veterinary Technician looking for a consistent part-time opportunity in a fast-paced emergency hospital?
Animal Emergency Center of Sandy Springs is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and team-oriented Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our growing emergency team. If you thrive in urgent situations, enjoy emergency medicine, and want to continue building your technical skills while maintaining work-life balance, we'd love to meet you.
Part-Time Schedule
This position offers a consistent weekly schedule:
  • Every Friday morning
  • Every Sunday morning
  • Every other Saturday morning

Additional shifts may be available based on hospital needs and your availability.
Compensation
Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT/RVT/CVT): Starting at $28+/hour
Experienced Veterinary Assistants: Starting at $23+/hour
Compensation is based on emergency experience, technical skills, and overall clinical background.

What You'll Do
As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you'll provide hands-on patient care while supporting doctors during emergency cases and procedures.
Responsibilities include:
  • Perform patient triage and assist with emergency assessments
  • Obtain patient histories and monitor patient condition
  • Perform venipuncture, blood collection, and IV catheter placement
  • Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as directed
  • Perform in-house laboratory diagnostics and sample preparation
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical procedures
  • Support emergency procedures and patient recovery
  • Assist with radiology and diagnostic imaging
  • Maintain accurate medical records and treatment sheets
  • Communicate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, and clients
  • Deliver compassionate support during emergency situations

What We're Looking For
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience
  • Emergency, Urgent Care, Specialty, or high-volume General Practice experience
  • LVT, RVT, or CVT preferred
  • Confidence with:
    • Emergency triage
    • Venipuncture
    • IV catheter placement
    • Medication administration
    • Fluid therapy
    • Anesthesia monitoring
    • Laboratory diagnostics
    • Patient monitoring

Experienced non-credentialed Veterinary Technicians or Veterinary Assistants with strong emergency experience are encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
This position requires working in a busy emergency veterinary hospital where patient care is the highest priority.
Qualified candidates should be able to:
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and remain active throughout extended shifts
  • Safely restrain dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently, with assistance available for heavier patients
  • Perform repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail
  • Work around animal dander, fur, odors, cleaning products, disinfectants, medications, and laboratory materials
  • Safely work in environments involving animal waste, bodily fluids, blood, sharps, and infectious diseases while following hospital safety protocols
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Respond quickly to changing patient and hospital needs in a fast-paced emergency environment
