Alexandria College is seeking an TPT Medical Laboratory Technician Instructor to teach theory and laboratory courses within our Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program. The ideal candidate is committed to student success, skilled in handson instruction, and enthusiastic about educating the next generation of healthcare laboratory professionals.

Adjunct faculty members will be compensated at the rate of seven hundred seventy-five dollars ($775.00) to one thousand six hundred fifty dollars ($1,650.00) per semester credit.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach assigned didactic and laboratory courses in the MLT curriculum, which include Hematology, Microbiology, Diagnostic Chemistry, Immunology, Biological Fluids, and Phlebotomy

  • Deliver highquality instruction through inperson lectures, online learning platform, and lab demonstrations, with active learning strategies.

  • Develop course materials, assessments, and lab activities aligned with program competencies and NAACLS accreditation standards.

  • Evaluate student performance in both theory and lab, providing timely feedback.

  • Ensure compliance with institutional, departmental, and accreditation requirements.

  • Participate in required orientation, professional development and college-related work.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a medical laboratory technologist/scientist.

  • Medical Laboratory Technologist/Scientist certification by one of the following: American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), AAB Board of Registry (ABOR), or American Medical Technologists (AMT).

  • Minimum requirement of Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field and experience in teaching or mentoring. Position open until filled.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous teaching or clinical instruction experience.

  • Experience with D2L learning management system.

  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to inclusive, studentcentered teaching.
