Job Summary:
The lab technician is a key role which is responsible for completing the chemical analyses on various product types and ensuring daily completion of the patient workload. Lab technicians must be careful to accurately follow all quality processes, have the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and complete assigned projects.
Essential Functions:
  • Perform laboratory operations with good laboratory techniques, with a high degree of precision and accuracy
  • Completing chemical analyses for patients in a timely fashion
  • Prepare reagents, standards, and samples according to standard operating procedures
  • Understand and utilize computers for information access, calculations, and report preparation
  • Perform routine laboratory equipment maintenance
  • Process and evaluate data
Essential Qualifications:
  • Well organized amp; attention to detail
  • Work well independently
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills,
  • Be able to multi-task, and be self-motivated.
  • Additional preferred skills:
  • 1-3 years laboratory experience
Physical
  • Frequently sitting at desk or computer while typing, completing paperwork, or meeting patients.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying, paperwork, files, office supplies, up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional push/pull exerting up to 5-10 lbs. force, opening doors, file drawers, pushing files in drawers
  • Occasional kneeling/crouching and ability to reach lower file drawers, stretching to store or retrieving materials.
Mental
Position requires constant mental alertness, attention to detail, and high degree of accuracy required. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions and follow-through on all assignments. Must be able to work independently and be able to use sound judgment in critical clinical decisions.
