Known across South Carolina for decades of precision work, Ducksback Inc. is a trusted authority in residential, commercial, and industrial asphalt paving and structural maintenance.

If you are a reliable, manual-transmission-proficient driver who wants to stay local, work with a respected team, and be home every single night, Ducksback Inc. offers the stability and respect you deserve.

What You Will Be Doing

You will oversee the field logistics and safe transit of heavy transport vehicles and site assets:

  • Heavy Fleet Transport: Safely and efficiently operate CDL Class A trucks equipped with manual transmissions, moving equipment, tools, and industrial materials across the region.
  • Site Logistics Support: Coordinate the precise loading, anchoring, and unloading of project materials, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure transport.
  • On-Site Operational Integration: Collaborate directly with field crews, providing material placement, logistical support, and hands-on assistance with asphalt workflows when not behind the wheel.
  • Fleet Readiness Compliance: Conduct rigorous pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify maintenance needs, preserve asset longevity, and guarantee safe operational status.
  • Regulatory Recordkeeping: Maintain compliance with all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) standards, including accurate driving logs and delivery manifests.

What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)

  • Licensure: A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A) with no manual transmission restrictions.
  • Driving Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional commercial driving experience is preferred.
  • Technical Versatility: Prior experience operating within asphalt, sealcoating, heavy civil, or construction environments is a significant advantage.
  • Field Adaptability: Active willingness to assist on-site teams with manual paving or site logistics when the transport truck is stationary.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Ability to adapt to varying project hours, including mandatory weekend availability based on contract scopes.
  • Logistics Assets: Access to reliable personal transportation to and from the dispatch yard.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Compensation & Premium Benefits

We reward precision, safety, and operational flexibility with a strong part-time package:

  • Competitive Wages: $25.00 – $27.00 per hour based strictly on your experience and equipment familiarity.
  • Reliable Earnings: Dependable weekly pay cycle for financial consistency.
  • Professional Longevity: Steady, predictable work pipelines with a respected industry leader that values your specialized skill set.
  • Optimal Work-Life Balance: Strictly local travel throughout Columbia and surrounding areas; zero overnights or long-haul sleeper shifts.
