Part time kennel jobs involve caring for animals—typically dogs and cats—in a kennel or boarding facility. Duties often include feeding, cleaning kennels, exercising animals, monitoring their health, and sometimes assisting with grooming or administering medication. These positions usually require a love for animals, attention to detail, and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Part time roles are ideal for those looking for hands-on experience with animals while maintaining a flexible schedule.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time kennel attendant?

Familiarity with cleaning and sanitation equipment, animal handling tools, and sometimes scheduling or kennel management software is helpful. Strong attention to detail, patience, and effective communication with both animals and clients distinguish top performers in this role. These skills ensure the safety, well-being, and comfort of animals as well as smooth operations in the kennel environment.
