Pay Range ($26.82 - $33.52 / hourly compensation)
This is an ONCALL positiion.
Perform the general or specialized cleaning in order to provide cooks and food servers with appropriate equipment for guests dining experience. Clean the physical surroundings, help control and inventory all non-production food and beverage activities and equipment in the back-of-the-house.
Position Requirements
Essential Functions:
  • Sorts, loads and unloads silver, china and glassware from the dishwashing machine.

  • Ensures that china, glassware and flatware are washed according to posted instructions and that all items are cleaned and sanitized according to established standards. Ensures the pot and pan area is kept clean and orderly.

  • Performs and/or assigns all general sanitation cleaning duties of kitchen facilities, i.e., baseboards, walls, ceilings, etc., meeting state Board of Health regulations. Reports safety conditions in kitchens, cafeteria, outlets, and bars. Follows all safety, health, and sanitation codes, regulations, and practices required by Hotel or Governmental authority.

  • Maintains the control of inventory of chinaware, glassware, service equipment, etc. to ensure adequate supplies of table settings. Ensures that equipment is cleaned after each use. Detarnishes/polishes silver and copper for proper appearance, ensuring that adequate quantities and pieces are available for service. Operates burnishing machine to ensure proper finish on copper pieces and silverware. Ensures the safe and proper usage of all polishing equipment and chemical compounds.

  • Transports food and equipment to various kitchens and other locations throughout the hotel property. Requires the safe and timely transportation of items weighing up to 50 lbs. or push up to 600 lbs, with wheeled assistance throughout the property while traveling on various surfaces (smooth, bumpy, uneven, etc.).

  • Sets up and breaks down equipment for functions. Replenishes food, dishes and utensils for buffet lines and pupu parties, transporting items weighing up to 50 lbs. and up to 600 lbs. with wheeled assistance.

  • Clean walls, baseboards, floor drains, wash racks, garbage cans, and garbage can rooms to ensure that proper levels of sanitation are maintained. Daily, clean and maintains refrigerators for cleanliness, and sweeping and mopping as necessary. Ensures that all equipment is clean and properly stored.

Education/Training Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma preferred

Experience/Skill Requirements:
  • Minimum 6 month to 1-year experience in a Steward department preferred.
