Mesa seeks a UAS Pilot Technician (Part-time) with the following skills, knowledge and abilities:

  • Possess experience in understanding UAS flight properties and operation
  • Demonstrate UAS pilot skills including line of sight and first-person view techniques
  • Ability to read and understand GIS maps and be able to navigate to each inspection site
  • Ability to learn and follow direction from supervisor and other management personnel
  • Willing to contribute and adhere to the safety requirements of the working environment.
  • Possess good interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment with peers and clients.
  • Possess experience and proficiency with software applications such as Google maps, GIS maps and drawings, basic MS Office Word and Excel, internet and email.
  • Demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately, manage information, and provide exceptional service.

Education/Experience/Licensure-Certification:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma, prefer 2-year degree or better
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Must possess FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate and a Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities:

  • Perform (Unmanned Aerial System) UAS safety checks and UAS airworthiness assessments
  • Coordinate transportation to the inspection site Insure UAS is in flight ready condition (batteries, electronic media, cameras)
  • Aid inspection team in setting up safety zone
  • Help maintain safety zone being aware of property owners/pedestrians in the area
  • Operate UAS in a safe, professional manner
  • Operate UAS in accordance with all FAA rules
  • Collect images necessary to inspect structures and lines Create backup files and documentation for all images as required
  • Note deficiencies on structures and lines
  • Communicate with management and project team about deficiencies found
  • Make suggestions to improve data collection process and efficiency
