Part-Time | At Will | Non-Exempt
FlipStar Gymnastics Academy is hiring a Part-Time Competitive Team Coach to support our USAG program.
We are looking for either:
• An experienced optional-level coach, or
• A strong cultural fit ready to grow within a competitive environment
At FlipStar, coaching is treated as a professional role. Our competitive coaches focus on athlete development, progression, team culture, and not administrative overload.
THE ROLE
• Deliver high-quality gymnastics instruction with strong emphasis on technique, safety, and progression
• Contribute to athlete development within the USAG pathway
• Support structured, disciplined, and positive team culture
• Represent FlipStar professionally at meets and events
• Collaborate with leadership and fellow coaches
Administrative communication, billing, enrollment logistics, and front desk responsibilities are handled by dedicated support staff.

Many gyms expect competitive coaches to manage parent communication, meet registration, billing issues, and scheduling independently. That is not our model.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 3 years competitive coaching experience
• Optional-level experience preferred but not required
• Strong knowledge of USAG Code and athlete progression
• Professional leadership presence
• Comfortable using Google Workspace and industry software such as iClassPro
• Ability to collaborate within a structured coaching team
• First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain
• Minimum 18 years of age
SCHEDULE
• 2-3 shifts per week
• Weekday evenings: 4:00pm - 8:30pm (Monday-Friday)
• Saturday mornings: 8:00am - 12:30pm
Compensation is based on experience and role contribution.
MEETS & ADDITIONAL EARNING OPPORTUNITIES
Competitive coaches are expected to attend meets throughout the season. Meets typically occur on weekends and may include Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Assignment priority is given to the coach leading the event and/or the coach with greater tenure within the company.
Part-time coaches are compensated for meet attendance through our Booster Club. Meet compensation is separate from regular hourly pay. If a meet replaces a regularly scheduled gym shift, the coach will receive meet compensation but will not receive additional hourly pay from FlipStar for that shift.
Specific meet compensation details are discussed during the interview process.
Private lesson opportunities are available outside of the employees scheduled hours. Participation in private lessons is optional and not required.
