Summary of Position
The Department of Art offers courses that satisfy major requirements in the art for the degrees of Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science in Education, and Master of Arts in Art Education. The requirements for curricula and graduation are by the published regulations of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
Teach undergraduate courses in the freshman visual arts foundations program as appropriate. Courses include 2D and 3D design, foundation, and intermediate drawing. Must also be available to meet with students outside of class.
Position Information
Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students promptly. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university-provided tools and resources.

Qualifications and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications: At least a Masters of Fine Art in any Visual Art discipline. Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience.
Physical Requirements: In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform sedentary work.
Sedentary: work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs may be defined as Sedentary when walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other Sedentary criteria aremet.
