The Department of Family, Interiors, Nutrition & Apparel at San Francisco State University invites applications for part-time lecturer positions (non-tenure track) in Interior Design for Fall 2026 & Spring 2027.

The Family, Interiors, Nutrition & Apparel (FINA) Department has been active in addressing quality of life issues at San Francisco State University for over a century and has firm roots in providing quality education that addresses trends and issues that impact the lives of individuals, families, and communities. The department's goal is to provide a transformative student experience that advances understanding of contemporary issues that influence food, shelter, clothing, and relationship needs. Implicit within the four FINA programs is a commitment to addressing racial and social justice through curricula, self-expression, student engagement, and example. The core of each of the FINA programs is to encourage critical thought, diverse ways of understanding, and the development of ethical professional practices which will enhance the quality of life for those who our students will serve.

  • A current Curriculum Vitae (including details of current and previous teaching experience: date of teaching, institution, class size)
  • The names, addresses, phone numbers, and emails of two professional references who are in a position to comment on the applicant's current or previous teaching experience. 

Applications will be accepted up until the beginning of the term or until the position is filled.

This is a continuous recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill part-time, temporary, assignments on an as-needed basis, beginning Fall 2023 & Spring 2024.

Salary

Lecturer A/2 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per month
Lecturer B/3 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,221 - $13,224 per month
Lecturer C/4 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,825 - $14,523 per month
Lecturer D/5 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $8,593 - $15,211 per month

Anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank.
