Emergency Service NREMT-Paramedic
Part-time
JOB SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY
Wage:$22.62- $33.92
This part-time(0.5 status or 20hrs per week) position assists Registered Nursing Staff and Emergency Physicians by performing direct and indirect patient care as delegated by the RN or Physician and within the scope of practice of the NREMT-Paramedic. Performs unit secretarial tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides direct and indirect care to patients.
Performs secretarial duties: answering phones, placing calls, order entry, logging patient information, and obtaining old records.
Assists with cleaning of patient treatment areas.
Restocks and orders supplies for patient treatment areas, kitchenettes, nursing station, and supply carts.
Cleans instruments and utensils and delivers to sterile processing department.
Observes and reports changes in patient's physical and emotional condition.
Transports patients to appropriate areas.
Keeps patient treatment areas, kitchenette, storage areas, and nursing station in order.
Performs emergency diagnostic and treatment procedures such as airway management, IV/IO access, cardiac monitoring, and medication administration within the scope of practice of an NREMT-Paramedic.
Provides education and reviews discharge instructions for the patient and family.
Other duties may be assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
Graduate of an approved accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program and previous experience as an Emergency Room Care Technician or clinic setting desired.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Holds or is eligible for current licensure in the State of South Dakota.
Mandatory Basic and Advanced Life Support Training per policy
