You'll serve as a trusted resource for nurses, physicians, caregivers, and loved ones, helping maintain comfort, dignity, and continuity of care.

Job Overview
This position provides Insurance Verification and Authorization for all patients. This position contacts insurance companies, verifies Hospice benefit coverage, level of care coverage, enters information into Homeworks in order for staff to have accurate information about patient coverage. The person in this position will work closely with the Financial Counselor for patients who require a Financial Assistance application completed or are in need of applying for Medicaid. This position will keep track of all ongoing authorizations for any level of care change and any expired authorizations. The position requires medical terminology, professional telephone skills, strong computer skills and must be able to perform copying, faxing and follow up as needed.

Vast knowledge of commercial insurance plans, Government plans
Medical terminology
Excel and ICD9 coding
2-3 years experience in a related field
