Part time insurance jobs are positions within the insurance industry that require employees to work fewer hours than a typical full-time schedule, often under 30-35 hours per week. These roles can include sales agents, customer service representatives, claims processors, or administrative support staff. Part time insurance jobs offer flexible schedules and can be a good fit for students, retirees, or those seeking supplemental income. They may provide opportunities to gain industry experience and, in some cases, offer benefits such as training or commissions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time insurance agent?

To thrive as a Part Time Insurance Agent, you generally need a high school diploma or equivalent, state insurance licensure, and a solid understanding of insurance products and sales principles. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software, quoting systems, and underwriting tools is typically required. Join Our Growing RCM Team!

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable Dental Insurance Coordinator to join our growing Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) department. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced insurance professional who understands the complexities of dental insurance and is looking for a long-term opportunity to grow within a dynamic, multi-specialty practice.
The ideal candidate will have dental insurance experience, strong knowledge of insurance benefits and eligibility, and preferably experience working with pediatric Medicaid plans. Experience managing insurance for multiple locations and specialties is highly valued.
About the Position
This is currently a part-time position, with the potential to grow into a full-time role as our department and organizational needs expand.

The Insurance Coordinator will oversee patient insurance verification for six locations across our multi-specialty practice, while also supporting the implementation and utilization of our upcoming AI platform, AirPay.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily insurance eligibility and benefit verifications for patients across six locations.
  • Accurately collect, interpret, document, and enter insurance information and benefits into the practice management software.
  • Verify deductibles, annual maximums, frequencies, limitations, exclusions, waiting periods, coverage levels, and other relevant plan details.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy to ensure clean claims, accurate patient estimates, and efficient revenue cycle operations.
  • Identify changes in patient insurance coverage and communicate those changes clearly and professionally to patients and the appropriate team members.
  • Communicate insurance information and patient financial responsibilities in a way that is clear, professional, and easy for patients to understand.
  • Stay knowledgeable about insurance plans, payer requirements, participating networks, and practice policies.
  • Help develop and maintain consistency in insurance verification processes across all six locations.
  • Assist with the implementation and ongoing use of AirPay, our upcoming AI platform.
  • Train new hires on the practice's insurance policies, verification procedures, participating networks, and expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with the RCM team, front office teams, and other departments to resolve insurance-related issues.
  • Assist with additional RCM responsibilities as needed. We are looking for someone who is willing to step outside of the traditional Insurance Coordinator role and contribute wherever help is needed.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and collections.
  • Demonstrate a continuous growth mindset and willingness to learn new technology, systems, processes, and responsibilities.
What We're Looking For
Our ideal candidate is:
  • Experienced: Dental insurance experience is strongly preferred.
  • Medicaid knowledgeable: Pediatric Medicaid experience is highly preferred.
  • Insurance savvy: Possesses a strong understanding of dental insurance, payer requirements, networks, benefits, and eligibility.
  • Dependable: Consistently follows through, meets deadlines, and can be relied upon by the team.
  • Detail-oriented: Understands that accurate insurance verification is critical to the patient experience and the success of the RCM department.
  • A strong communicator: Can communicate insurance information clearly and professionally with both patients and team members.
  • A team player: Willing to collaborate, assist others, and contribute to the overall success of the department.
  • A multitasker: Comfortable managing multiple locations, priorities, payers, and responsibilities simultaneously.
  • A problem solver: Doesn't simply identify a problem—looks for solutions.
  • Growth-minded: Interested in learning, developing professionally, taking on additional responsibilities, and growing within the RCM department.
  • Flexible: Willing to assist with responsibilities outside of insurance verification when the needs of the RCM department require it.
  • Technology-friendly: Comfortable learning new software and embracing technology, including our upcoming AI platform, AirPay.
Why Join Us?
This position offers an opportunity to become an important part of a growing RCM department with the potential for increased hours and responsibility over time. We value team members who want to build their skills, take ownership of their work, and grow with the organization.
If you are an experienced dental insurance professional who loves the details, understands insurance, enjoys helping patients and coworkers, and wants an opportunity to grow beyond a traditional insurance role, we would love to hear from you!
