Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to develop, implement, and oversee all safety programs and protocols across our projects. The Safety Officer ensures employees adhere to safety regulations, minimizes risk of accidents, and promotes a culture of safety throughout the organization. This role includes site inspections, staff training, regulatory compliance, and reporting to management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of job sites, equipment, and tools
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; document findings and implement corrective actions
  • Provide safety training and education programs to employees, including new hire orientations and ongoing sessions
  • Maintain and update safety records and documentation, ensuring OSHA and regulatory compliance
  • Serve as primary contact for all safety-related matters, including emergency response and hazard communication
  • Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and employees to promote a culture of safety
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce safety protocols
  • Stay informed about new safety regulations, industry trends, and best practices
  • Prepare and present safety reports to management, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a safety role within the construction industry
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train and influence others
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software
