Location: 4200 Bixby Road, Groveport, OH 43125

Schedule: This position, as a part-time schedule, will average 20 hours per week. Part-time hours are worked Monday through Friday, on a split shift from 8:00 a.m.-10 a.m. and 2 p.m.-4 p.m. to accommodate daily arrival and departure schedules.

Hourly Wage: $18.00 an hour

What You’ll Do and Why it Matters:

A Transportation Professional plays an important role in helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities safely access services, programs, and opportunities in the community. This role is about more than driving—it’s about reliability, compassion, and helping people start and end their day with dignity and support.

  • Safe & Dependable Transportation: You’ll operate a wheelchair-accessible shuttle vehicle to safely transport individuals to and from ARC Voyagers’ facilities and programs.
  • Creating Positive Experiences: You’ll provide a welcoming, respectful, and supportive environment for every passenger during each trip.
  • Supporting Independence: By helping individuals access programs and services, you’ll play a direct role in supporting their independence and quality of life.
  • Safety First: You’ll follow all traffic laws, complete vehicle inspections, and ensure passengers and adaptive equipment are properly secured.
  • Hands-On Assistance: You’ll assist passengers with boarding, offboarding, and wheelchair accessibility equipment as needed.
  • Keeping Things Running Smoothly: You’ll complete route attendance, communicate transportation concerns, and document incidents or maintenance needs when necessary.
  • Staying Active & Engaged: This is an active role that keeps you moving and interacting with people throughout the day.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

  • 21+ with a high school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Ability to lift, bend, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Friendly, patient and dependable with strong communication skills
  • Committed to providing safe, respectful and reliable transportation
  • Comfortable working independently and managing daily routes efficiently
  • Ability to assist passengers and operate wheelchair-accessible equipment safely
  • Previous experience driving passengers or accessible vehicles is a plus
  • Positive, professional, and driven to make a difference

Requirements:

  • Must submit to a BCII/FBI background check and Nurses Aid & Abuser Registry checks.
  • Maintain American Red Cross or equivalent first aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid State of Ohio Driver’s License and insurability standards.
  • Complete eight hours of training as required by The Ohio Department of Developmental upon hire.
  • Must pass a driver physical and drug screen
  • Must be able to operate a wheel-chair accessible shuttle vehicle safely and efficiently
