Job description

This position supports the Claims Legal Team by assisting with administrative tasks associated with the legal/litigation process.
Throughout the school year, this position is part-time 15-25 hours per week based on class schedule and our company's business hours, which are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. During the summer and breaks, the position is 40 hours per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review incoming correspondence and route to appropriate staff for further handling
  • Review invoices for legal and expert services and process payments to appropriate claims
  • Set up new litigation files, including data entry, transmission of electronic files, and drafting correspondence
  • Other duties and projects as assigned within the Claims Legal team

QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL:
  • Currently enrolled in an Administrative Professional degree program, Paralegal degree, or similar related program
  • Basic computer software knowledge (Microsoft Suite, e-mail, accessing and updating databases)
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED:
  • Prior office experience
