Join the team at KOC in our Revenue Cycle Department, where we provide personalized care in a collaborative and supportive environment. We are currently seeking a full-time Insurance Collector who is committed to providing superior service and eager to grow within a highly respected orthopaedic practice.

At Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic, our purpose is to improve lives through patient-centered care - every patient, every time. And we've been doing just that since our founding in 1930.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare insurance claims for filing by gathering the necessary paperwork and information for compliant billing

  • Submit paper claims with the required documentation (Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary).

  • Manage daily mail by providing requested documents and information to payers, attorneys, and collection agencies.

  • Resolve issues that prevent the creation of claims.
  • Address and resolve eligibility to proactively obtain health insurance information for patient with scheduled appointments.
  • Ensure pre-authorization numbers are entered into the billing system.
  • Correct any patient demographic or insurance information as needed to refile rejected or denied claims.
  • May be responsible for coordinating or resolving billing issues related to Skilled Nursing Facilities
  • Contacts payers to research claim status, notes accounts and follows up

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in a medical billing office or similar

  • Experience with patient or customer collections

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and compliance standards

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and independently

  • Dedication to providing exceptional patient care and service
