General Description
The Continuing Education Department is seeking a part-time instructor to teach our Pharmacy Technician certificate program. This course prepares students to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board's PTCB exam. The incumbent will be responsible for providing quality instruction to students by ensuring student satisfaction through the classroom or laboratory setting according to the program objectives. Must possess a pharmacist license. Topics covered include: structure and function of the human body, medical terminology, drug classifications, pharmacy calculations and measurements, practice in multiple environments, processing orders and prescriptions, handling sterile products and inventory control and billing.
Characteristics, Duties, and Responsibilities
• Provide quality and technically relevant instruction, assessment, and feedback in lecture and laboratory.
• Teaches material from approved curriculum.
• Maintain daily attendance.
• Monitor students' performance to make suggestions for improvement and to ensure that they satisfy course standards, training requirements, and objectives.
• Motivates students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process.
• Assist with course/program evaluation.
Education Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Pharmacy from a four-year college or university or related field
• Must have NJ State Board of Pharmacy License and/or national PTCB certification
Experience
• A minimum of three (3) years' as a Pharmacy Technician or Registered Pharmacist
• Hospital pharmacy experience with IV and compounding experience strongly preferred
• 3+ years of instructional experience
Competencies and Skills Required
• Excellent communications skills and hands-on experience and expertise.

• Ability to instruct remotely and in-classroom
Physical Demands and Work Environment
• This position's duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled.
• Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
• Some travel required.
