QUALIFICATIONS:


Must have some knowledge/ understanding of gymnastics or cheerleading. Must be self-motivated but can work well with others. Must be able to react quickly and calmly in an emergency. Must have excellent customer service skills and can work flexible shifts on weekdays and weekends. Must work well with children of all ages. Certified in first-aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) preferred. Possess a valid driver's license. Must meet Park Board employment and physical standards, which includes a background check as well as drug and alcohol screening. Experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and aptitude to perform the defined duties.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Represents the CGCA brand while greeting visitors and members.
  • Presents professional appearance and attitude always.
  • Maintains a high standard of customer service.
  • Maintains constant surveillance of athletes in the facility: acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of athletes in the event of an emergency.
  • Maintains a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
  • Helps maintain facility cleanliness.
  • Assists lead instructors and other coaches with all classes.
  • Understands and follows lesson plans.
  • Sets up and breaks down the equipment needed for each day.
  • Tracks the attendance of recreation students.
  • Communicates questions and/or concerns with lead instructors.
  • Acts as a team member with other Parks and Recreation staff, embracing and supporting the vision and mission of the Cullman Parks and Recreation Board of Directors and the City of Cullman.
  • Establishes and maintains sound business and financial procedures in accordance with Federal and State laws, and CPRST system policies.
  • Maintains professional internal and external relationships in keeping with CPRST core values.
  • Work hours may vary, which will include nights and weekends, with hours varying based on time of year, events, and projects.
  • Exhibits a high level of professionalism and ethics, working amicably with the Park Board, the Executive Director, Administrators, Personnel and Community.
  • Exhibits proficiency in written and oral communication.
  • Attends all meetings as required by supervisors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.



WORK ENVIRONMENT:


Most job duties are performed inside a temperature controlled environment. Occasionally, CGCA will participate in an outdoor exhibition.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


CGCA instructors must be in good physical shape. Employees will be working around heights and will be required to engage in heavy lifting/spotting. Employees must have the ability to climb, stand, and bend when performing various duties. Must be able to routinely lift fifty pounds of weight.
