Position Summary:

The primary purpose of the Infection Preventionist’s job is to oversee the planning, organization, development, direction, and evaluation of the infection prevention and control program throughout the Community in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations. This includes ensuring that current standards of practice related to infection prevention and control are incorporated in resident care and employee actions and identifying Community training needs based on infection surveillance and process/outcome measurement, developing training plans and materials, as well as evaluating efficacy of training provided.

Education/Qualifications:

  • Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a RN within the state in which you work.

  • Maintain an active CPR or BLS Certification.

  • Be qualified by education, training, experience certification, or a combination of these to meet the position requirements.

  • Must have completed (or complete within first week of hire) specialized training in infection prevention and control, including state-specific training required.

  • Must have basic computer skills and ability to navigate/learn to navigate various software programs, including Learning Management software and the electronic health record.
