Job Duties:

Key Responsibilities
Wound Care Duties
  • Obtain and update physician orders for wound care treatments
  • Administer treatments and monitor healing progress
  • Document wound status weekly (stage, size, depth, color, drainage, odor, resident response)
  • Observe and document skin condition and changes
  • Notify residents, families, physicians, and team members of changes
  • Review and revise care plans as needed
  • Participate in care planning meetings and MDS updates
  • Report wound status to the Director of Nursing
  • Provide wound care education and in-service training to staff
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards
  • Maintain care within budgetary guidelines
  • Participate in State Department of Health inspections and facility committees
  • Complete management reports and special assignments as directed
