Family Medicine Physician (w/ OB preferred)
We are seeking a part-time, temporary Family Practice Physician to join our relational and innovative organization where relationships with your patients and team matter, and your time is protected to support them.
With an average of ~9 patient visits per shift, and appointment times that honor complexity (15-min, 30-min, and same-day slots), you will have the time to practice medicine and care for your patients the way it was meant to be. Position Overview

Compensation & Benefits: Hourly rate range: $130 - $145/hour DOE, plus full Medical, Dental, & vision benefits (95-100% covered for employee).

A Day in the Life of a Physician with Winters Healthcare
If you were a Family Physician with Winters Healthcare, you would provide care for our patients with a care team, alongside one of our five care team providers. "Team [insert your name here]," includes a compassionate Medical Assistant, a motivating Population Health Coach (PHC), and a designated Patient Service Coordinator (PSC) working side-by-side for your panel of patients. You will work with our Clinical Psychologists for warm hand-offs and other behavioral health consultation and support. To enhance our integrated care teams, and resources for patients, we also have our dental department right across the lobby, as well as an on-site pharmacy.
Our services include adult and pediatric primary care, chronic disease management, prenatal care, and minor procedures. Your day will vary from visit to visit: an 18-month-old well-child visit, to a 63-year-old uninsured male with a cough, to a diabetic migrant-seasonal farm worker, or a 25-year-old female coming in with her first pregnancy. Each care team typically sees around 17 - 22 patients in an 8-hour shift, and have patient panels that average around 700. We place emphasis on establishing trusting relationships while being devoted to quality health outcomes and we have the data and measures results to prove it.
The ideal candidate is a bilingual (English/Spanish) FM-MD who provides prenatal care up to 36 weeks. Additionally, our ideal candidate enjoys being on a team, making connections, building relationships, and providing health care regardless of one's insurance or ability to pay. In addition, the ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, and the ability to establish effective, trusting relationships with patients, colleagues and the community. Responsibilities:
  • Communicate, collaborate, and work in a team-oriented environment supporting our model of care
  • Provide full-scope family medicine, chronic disease management, minor surgeries/procedures, prenatal care (low risk OB), family planning, and reproductive health
  • Consult with care teams as needed, and act as supervising physician, providing Medical Doctor oversight for mid-level providers

Qualifications:
  • Current MD/DO license to practice in the state of California, as well as valid DEA, and CPR/ACLS/BLS;
  • Ability to operate independently, alongside your MA and Population Health Coach
  • Bilingual fluency in English/Spanish is preferred (ability to read, write, and speak),
  • Board eligible or board certified (within 6 months of hire),
  • Strong leadership skills and dedication to serving community health care are essential.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Part-time, hourly rate is $130 - $145/ hour, DOE & Spanish fluency.
  • PTO Accrual
  • Medical, dental, vision, life insurance - 95% paid for employees, and 70% paid for dependents.
  • Professional liability insurance includes tail and wrap around coverage
  • NHSC Loan Eligible site (Opportunity for up to $55,000 for full-time and up to $30,000 for part-time in loan assistance)

Hours:
  • 24 hours/ week, and open to candidates looking for 16-32 hours/week, with 10% admin time.
  • We are also open to part-time candidates. Note: working 24 hours or more/ week qualifies for full health insurance benefits.
