Position Summary

The Housekeeper position is committed to providing quality housekeeping services at all facilities at the South Okanagan Events Centre Complex.

This role pays an hourly rate of $18.25-19.00 CAD

EVERGREEN ROLE: Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis; there is no application deadline.

Responsibilities
  • General Cleaning:  dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, cleaning windows/glass
  • Restroom Care:  cleaning fixtures, sanitizing surfaces, restocking supplies
  • Trash Management:  collecting, emptying and replacing liners
  • Event Support:  setting up and cleaning for special events and hockey games
  • Safety and Maintenance:  reporting maintenance issues, following safety protocols, assisting with exterior tasks such as snow removal
  • Documentation:  completing logs or checklists of duties perfomed
  • Provide guests with directions and other venue information
  • Respond to all requests in a prompt, courteous and professional manner
  • Maintain a neat and clean appearance during all scheduled shifts
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of custodial equipment
  • WHMIS training strongly preferred
  • Working experience in an areana, convention centre, or stadium an asset
  • Ability to converse, read and write fluently in English
  • Must be polite, friendly and possess good interpersonal skills as this position has guest and employee contact
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be available to work a variety of hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work outdoors occasionally
  • Ability to lift 22kg unaided
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to operate equipment safely according to training provided
