Job Overview

Fairview Range is hiring a Physical Therapy Aide for our Rehabilitation Services department in Hibbing, MN.

As a Physical Therapy Aide you will be under the direction of a licensed rehab provider (PT, OT, SLP, Cardiac), the PT Aide provides direct and indirect patient centered care. The PT Aide assists with routine maintenance and cleaning of applicable equipment, ordering supplies, restocking supplies and resources as directed by therapists in various departments, and maintaining a safe and clean working environment in all departments. The PT Aide assists with additional patient needs in both inpatient and outpatient settings when needs arise. 

Schedule:  This position will be working 40-71 hours per two weeks.  The shift length is 8 hours on the day shift. Weekends: As needed.

Fairview Range Rehabilitation Services provides comprehensive adult and pediatric physical, occupational and speech therapy services as well as adult cardiac and pulmonary rehab. Physical therapy services include specialty programs, such as vestibular rehab, sports medicine/strength and conditioning, orthopedics, TMD, men’s and women’s pelvic health/incontinence, cancer rehab, lymph-edema therapy, neuro rehab, chronic pain, dry needling, blood flow restriction therapy, tool-assisted and myofascial release, pediatric rehab and plagiocephaly and torticollis treatment including cranial scanning. Occupational therapy specialty services include wheelchair assessments, upper extremity and hand therapy, cognitive therapy, cancer rehab and pediatric rehab. Speech therapy specialty services include articulation and phonological disorders, apraxia, cognitive therapy, dysarthria, feeding (picky eaters, program growing to include birth to 2), voice therapy, swallowing and MBSS. As a Physical Therapy Aide, you will be responsible for:

  • Assists with age specific patient care as directed by therapists to patients of all ages. Includes safe transportation of patients by using appropriate and safe body mechanics.
  • Maintains and order supplies for patient care.
  • Performs routine cleaning of the Rehabilitation Services department. Includes setting up patient's arrival and cleaning areas after treatment, stocking supplies, obtaining and delivering equipment to patients.
  • Provides excellent customer service by communicating effectively and respectfully with patients, families, visitors, physicians, community, referral sources and Rehabilitation Services team.
  • Demonstrates strong patient and customer focus and gives positive representation of the Rehabilitation department to other departments and customers.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. or
  • in lieu of a diploma/G.E.D., 3+ years of experience in healthcare involving direct patient care.
  • 1-year medical experience
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
  • Workplace Violence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recent experience (within last year) in Rehab or as PT Aide
  • Direct Care Worker-CNA
