Job description

Position Summary:

OPEX Corporation is looking for a Part-Time Field Service Technician who enjoys hands-on work and helping customers keep their equipment running smoothly. This role is well suited for individuals who'd like to use their technical skills, and work a flexible, part-time schedule-without the demands of a full-time role.

Responsibilities:

  • This position is responsible for the day to day maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of mail opening, document scanning and/or material handling equipment
  • Installing and setting up new equipment
  • Interact with customers to understand issues and clearly explain solutions as well as keep customers informed during service visits and answer questions 
  • Complete service documentation and reports
  • Keeping the customer informed as repairs are made and answer any question that may arise.
  • Interact with management as well as other personnel to analyze and correct any equipment performance issues.
  • Submit weekly online timecards and expense reports 

Qualifications:

  • Practical mechanical, electronics, or computer skills gained through work or hands-on experience
  • A customer-first mindset and strong communication skills
  • Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Comfortable moving around equipment and working in smaller spaces when needed

Physical/Work Environment: 

  • Work may take place in office or warehouse settings, depending on the customer
  • Tasks may include bending, kneeling, reaching, or standing for periods of time
  • Reasonable physical activity typical of light technical service work
