Overview
Dacotah Bank Center is seeking energetic, customer-focused part-time Servers to join our team. As a multi-purpose venue that hosts conventions, conferences, banquets, weddings, trade shows, concerts, and sporting events, our team members play a versatile role in delivering exceptional guest experiences. Depending on the event, this position may serve guests during banquets and catered functions or work in concession stands as a cashier and food service team member. The ideal candidate is adaptable, team-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $11.85- $16.00 and is tip eligible.
For Part-Time roles: Benefits: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching.
This position will remain open until October 16, 2026.
Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service while creating a welcoming and positive guest experience.
  • Serve food and beverages at banquets, weddings, conferences, meetings, and other catered events in accordance with service standards.
  • Set up, maintain, and break down banquet rooms, buffet stations, beverage stations, and service areas.
  • Take food and beverage orders, deliver meals efficiently, and respond promptly to guest requests.
  • Ensure tables are properly set, cleared, and reset throughout service.
  • Assist with beverage service, including coffee, water, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Work concession stands as a cashier during arena events as needed, operating the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare and serve concession food items while following established food preparation and presentation standards.
  • Process cash, credit card, and mobile payment transactions accurately while maintaining proper cash handling procedures.
  • Restock food, beverages, condiments, and supplies throughout events to maintain efficient service.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary work areas in compliance with food safety and health regulations.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties for banquet and concession operations.
  • Follow responsible alcohol service practices and verify guest identification when required.
  • Work collaboratively with culinary, concessions, operations, and event staff to ensure successful event execution.
  • Adapt to varying assignments based on event needs, staffing requirements, and business demands.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • Previous experience in banquet service, restaurant service, concessions, food service, or hospitality is preferred.
  • Cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) experience is preferred.
  • Food Handler Certification and Alcohol Awareness Certification, or the ability to obtain required certifications within established timeframes.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, event-driven environment.
  • Comfortable working in both banquet service and concession operations as business needs require.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing outstanding guest service.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on event schedules.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills & a friendly, positive attitude with co-workers, managers, volunteers & guests.
