Additional Information About the Role

St. Louis Children's Hospital is seeking a Child Life Specialist to work part time in our emergency department!

Schedule: 10:30 AM-11 PM 1 day per week. Every 3rd weekend.

  • Collaborates with health care professionals and hospital staff to provide optimal family centered care.
  • Provides child life services to patients and families as assessed and prioritized including psycho-social preparation for hospitalization, procedures, surgeries, and/or other potentially stressful events.
  • Actively contributes to the efficient operation of the Child Life Department, planning activities, special projects, meetings and outcome measures.
  • Increases awareness of child life services throughout the hospital by providing information about the services, role modeling, medical record documentation and in-service education.
