Bello Machre is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for our Residential and Community Services Programs in Anne Arundel. Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are essential staff and provide loving care for adults with developmental disabilities in their homes and/or in a community setting throughout Anne Arundel County. The title of Direct Support Professional covers the full scope of positions and roles in our residential program and can be full or part-time. In addition to providing direct support and loving care, our Direct Support Professionals teach the people we support independent living skills, plan community-based activities, and implement individual program plans.

We are currently looking for FULL-TIME and PART-TIME DSPs to work in the Anne Arundel area.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • A high school diploma or GED required
  • Must have a current driver’s license with no more than 5 points
  • Must display a genuine interest in the well-being of adults with developmental disabilities
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor, peers, individuals, and families
  • Must demonstrate the ability to resolve problems and conflict effectively
  • Must display a positive attitude when interacting with others
  • Must be able to teach skills, provide support, and build on each individual's strengths and capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding support and services for people with developmental disabilities, enabling them to participate as fully as they wish in all aspects of community life
  • Assist individuals in the development of friendships and other relationships.
  • Assist individuals to become an active participant in their community and to build natural support networks
  • Support and promote people with developmental disabilities by providing choice in obtaining employment, educational, social, and recreational services
  • Be knowledgeable of the person-centered plan for each person and provide support to them according to their plan
  • Fully understand all aspects of fundamental rights
