Job Title: Part-Time House Manager & Family Assistant

Location: Houston, TX 77008

Employment Type: Part-time (10-15 hours per week)

Proposed Start Date: ASAP

Compensation: $30-$35/hour, based on experience

Proposed Schedule

Key Responsibilities

Household Organization & Maintenance
  • Maintain organization systems for closets, pantry, storage spaces, and common areas
  • Reset and tidy rooms regularly to maintain a clean and organized home environment
  • Prepare the home for the biweekly cleaning service
  • Organize seasonal clothing and manage donation items
  • Coordinate seasonal decor swaps and storage organization
  • Perform light household maintenance such as changing light bulbs, small paint touch-ups, or minor household fixes
  • Water indoor and outdoor plants as needed
  • Assist with seasonal storage trips for items such as decor or pool supplies
Inventory Management & Errands
  • Restock pantry items, household supplies, and toiletries
  • Execute grocery pickup orders and put groceries away
  • Run local errands such as returns, dry cleaning, prescription pick-ups, and donation drop-offs
  • Handle mail, deliveries, and package organization
Meal Support
  • Assist with school lunch preparation as needed
  • Rotate refrigerator items and monitor for expired food
  • Support grocery ordering and pantry restocking
  • Introduce (and be creative) with simple meal or snack ideas to add variety for children when helpful
Laundry & Linen Care
  • Manage household laundry including washing, drying, folding, organizing, and putting away clothing
  • Wash bedding and linens regularly

  • Keep laundry areas organized and stocked with supplies
  • Handle specialty care for uniforms or delicate clothing items
Family Support
  • Monitor household and activity calendars to ensure items such as uniforms, supplies, and event materials are prepared in advance
  • Provide a weekly overview of upcoming family activities and logistics
  • Assist with occasional school preparation or project needs
  • Provide occasional backup childcare, sick-day coverage, or transportation support when schedules overlap
  • Assist with packing preparation for travel, camps, or family trips
Pet Care
  • Refresh the cat water
  • Change the bag on the litter box
  • Deep clean the litter box (quarterly)
  • Be available for the mobile vet when appointments coincide with working hours
Deep Cleaning & Special Projects
  • Complete occasional deep cleaning tasks such as refrigerator organization, pantry resets, or drawer organization
  • Assist with seasonal organization projects

Vendor & Property Coordination
  • Coordinate with household service providers and vendors when needed
  • Research service providers and gather quotes for occasional home maintenance or improvement projects
  • Occasionally help oversee small home projects and scheduling
Administrative & Personal Assistant Support
  • Monitor flight trackers and recommend the best flight options to parents when they become available
