Position Summary: As a Multi Service Worker, you are acting as a member of the program team by delivering exemplary hospitality services that enhance life quality and peace of mind for seniors living within the community. Operating under the guidance of the Kitchen Manager or their designate, your focus lies on the delivery of food services.
Compensation:  $17.00/hour pre-probation to $17.63 post-probation
Shift: Part-Time day shift with weekends as needed.
Job Responsibilities

  • Provides essential communication and companionship when delivering services and reporting observations of social isolation or changes in resident functional status to the General Manager or designate.
  • Participates in resident service planning as requested.
  • Responds to non-scheduled requests for housekeeping and laundry assistance.
  • Assists in meal preparation, presentation, and service, ensuring adherence to food safety practices.
  • Conducts post-meal clean up stocks the community kitchen, ensuring proper inventory rotation methods are utilized for all perishable products. Prepares and services beverages and snacks.
  • Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning according to checklists.
  • Assists in the preparation of family and catered special events.
  • Follows Resident Services Plan and Shared Responsibility Agreement when delivering hospitality services, reporting incidents to the General Manager.
  • Performs kitchen and laundry services
  • Adheres to WHMIS protocols and infection control guidelines when performing hospitality services and maintains MSDS. Acts as backup in emergencies.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements/Certification Requirements

  • Food Service Worker Certificate or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a hospital, continuing care or hotel setting.
  • Food Safe – Level I & WHMIS Certifications required.
  • First Aid Certificate is considered an asset.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities/Experience Requirements:

  • Comfortable working alone or in a team environment, in the absence of prescribed routines.
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of the intent and philosophy of assisted living when planning and delivering hospitality services.
  • Ability to self-direct, plan, organize, and deliver care and services with minimal supervision.
