ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Watering Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining the lush, vibrant landscaping and annual flower displays across the Flying Horse grounds, including planters, hanging baskets, wagons, and the golf course. This position supports irrigation efforts by ensuring plants are properly watered, healthy, and receiving appropriate fertility to thrive.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to work both independently and as part of a team, and capable of safely operating irrigation equipment.

Essential duties are as follows:

  • Assist in the care and maintenance of planters, baskets, wagons, and other landscaped areas as needed on the Club grounds and golf course through manual irrigation.
  • Work closely with team members to ensure that watering and irrigation tasks are completed efficiently and in line with quality standards.
  • Assist with monitoring plant health, checking water needs, and managing the fertility of the plants to ensure proper growth and maintenance.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and performing minor repairs on irrigation systems is preferred. Willingness to learn and improve is a must.
  • Competent in and/or willingness to learn the safe operation of irrigation equipment, such as irrigation systems and tools, for daily maintenance and watering tasks.
  • Incorporates safe working practices while performing necessary duties of the job.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather.ย  Must be able to lift 25lbs.ย  Must be able to bend, stoop and crawl.
  • This job requires weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.ย ย 

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:ย 

  • 1 year experience in horticulture preferred, but not required
  • A valid driverโ€™s license is required.ย 
  • Ability to work for long periods of time standing, walking, reaching, bending, pushing/pulling
  • Must possess punctuality, reliability, and a strong attention to detail.
  • A self-motivated individual with excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills are a must, with the ability to work independently and efficiently without direct supervision.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

Reports to Horticulturist for the fulfillment of functions and responsibilities.

Will have contact with various members of Flying Horse Resort & Club staff, homeowners, members and other industry related people and is to conduct relationships in a professional manner that will enhance the overall marketing and operational success of the company.

Under theย Colorado Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA), employees accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year.
