Position Summary

Homemakers provide essential in-home support to individuals who need assistance due to age, illness, disability, or other health-related conditions. Services may include housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, errands, transportation, companionship, and respite support.

Our Homemakers play an important role in improving the quality of life of our clients by delivering care in a respectful, compassionate, and professional manner, in accordance with agency policies and industry standards.


Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to the Supervisor.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with meal planning and meal preparation
  • Perform light housekeeping duties such as:
  • Making and changing beds
  • Dusting
  • Vacuuming
  • Washing floors
  • Cleaning kitchens and bathrooms
  • Laundry
  • Assist with essential shopping and errands in accordance with the care plan
  • Handle client funds for approved errands when authorized and supervised
  • Support clients in following written special diet plans as outlined in the care plan
  • Escort clients to medical appointments, shopping trips, errands, and outings as specified in the care plan
  • Provide companionship, friendship, and emotional support
  • Assist clients with communication needs, including writing or typing correspondence and researching information
  • Follow the written care plan and all agency policies and procedures
  • Observe changes in the client’s condition and report concerns to the Supervisor
  • Complete and maintain accurate records of daily activities, observations, and service hours
  • Attend orientation, in-service training, and staff meetings
  • Maintain professional communication with Supervisors and co-workers
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities

The homemaker must pass agency exam with 75% or better.

In good physical health.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

Related training or experience is a plus

Valid driver’s license required

Valid automobile insurance required

Must be in good physical health

Must pass agency exam with a score of 75% or higher
