Job description

Part-Time Home Support Caregiver โ€“ Winooski and South Burlington
Hands at Home Care Services is seeking a dependable caregiver to provide recurring household and companionship support for two individuals in the Winooski and South Burlington area.
These are short, daytime visits for clients who value their independence but need reliable help keeping their homes clean, comfortable, and manageable. This opportunity is especially well suited for someone who enjoys one-on-one interaction, takes pride in completing household tasks thoroughly, and is interested in building consistent relationships with the people they support.
Current Recurring Schedule

  • Every other Monday from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM
  • Every Friday from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM

Additional shifts may be available in Burlington, South Burlington, Winooski, Colchester, Essex Junction, Williston, Shelburne, Milton, and other nearby Chittenden County communities.
What You Will Help With
During these visits, you may provide support with:

  • Laundry, including handling laundry bags and putting clean items away
  • Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and general household cleaning
  • Washing dishes and tidying the kitchen
  • Organizing frequently used household items
  • Changing linens and maintaining a comfortable living space
  • Completing tasks that may be difficult for a client because of limited stamina, discomfort, or difficulty standing for extended periods
  • Friendly conversation, companionship, and social engagement
  • Transportation or local errands when included in the individual care plan
  • Observing changes or concerns and communicating them to the office
  • Completing accurate electronic care notes after each visit

These clients are largely independent. The caregiverโ€™s role is to provide dependable assistance without taking over tasks the client can safely complete on their own.
The Right Caregiver for These Homes
We are looking for someone who:

  • Is dependable and comfortable committing to recurring visits
  • Notices what needs to be done and can work through household tasks efficiently
  • Is respectful of each clientโ€™s routines, preferences, and independence
  • Is patient, conversational, and has a positive sense of humor
  • Can adjust the pace of household tasks based on the clientโ€™s comfort and energy
  • Is comfortable working in a home with a cat
  • Can report to work without perfume, fragranced body sprays, or strong smoke odors
  • Maintains appropriate professional boundaries
  • Communicates promptly with clients and the office team

Position Requirements

  • Valid driverโ€™s license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Smartphone with access to mobile applications
  • Ability to complete light household tasks, including laundry, vacuuming, and mopping
  • Strong attendance and communication
  • Compassionate and person-centered approach

No Vermont caregiving certification is required. Hands at Home provides training and ongoing support.
Employee Benefits

  • Weekly pay
  • Next-day pay option
  • Paid time off
  • Health insurance and supplemental benefit options
  • Educational assistance
  • Ongoing caregiver training
  • Referral bonus opportunities
  • Access to additional open shifts
  • Support from the office team 24 hours a day

Recognition and Bonus Opportunities
Recurring-Shift Reliability Recognition
Complete 12 recurring shifts as scheduled and earn priority status. Caregivers with priority status are offered appropriate new clients and available shifts before those opportunities are released more broadly.
Home-Team Bonus
When a clientโ€™s scheduled care remains at least 95% filled for four consecutive weeks, each eligible caregiver on that clientโ€™s regular care team receives a $50 bonus.
Full-Time Employee Referral Bonus โ€” Up to $500
Refer an eligible full-time caregiver and earn:

  • $50 after the referred caregiver completes orientation and works their first shift
  • $100 after two weeks of scheduled shifts
  • $150 after 30 days in good standing
  • $200 after 90 days in good standing

Client-Compliment Referral Bonus
During the referralโ€™s first 90 days, both you and the caregiver you referred may receive an additional $50 when either of you earns a qualifying client compliment.
Make a Visible Difference in Someoneโ€™s Week
A few hours of reliable assistance can help someone conserve energy, maintain a safe and orderly home, and continue living independently.
Apply today to join Hands at Home Care Services and provide consistent, respectful support to clients in the greater Burlington area.
