Night Shift (6p-6a) Full-time, Part-time and PRN
Position Overview: The Med/Surg RN works collaboratively as an active member of the interprofessional team to provide therapeutic patient and family centered care. The Med/Surg RN systematically and continuously collects and assesses data related to patient health status to develop, execute, and evaluate the plan of care. The Med/Surg RN performs all required elements of a nursing assessment including, but not limited to physical examination, assessment of readiness to learn, psychosocial and functional assessments along with the utilization of patient/family specific assessment scales as required. The Med/Surg RN considers factors related to safety, effectiveness and cost in planning and delivering care. The Med/Surg RN establishes goals and strategies for meeting the discharge or continuing care needs of the patient, family and/or other care provider. The Med/Surg RN delegates and supervises care in accordance with the Al Nurse Practice Act and ECH departmental policies. The Med/Surg RN participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives and assumes responsibility for their professional development. The Med/Surg RN's decisions and actions with patients and families are determined in an ethical manner.
Requirements
Education
  • Graduate of an approved registered nurse program

Work Experience
  • Possess knowledge of the nursing process, including skills for the assigned area of duty.
  • Relevant RN experience

Licenses & Certifications
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Al or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact.
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Knowledge and experience documenting patient care in an electronic medical record
  • Ability to make knowledgeable clinical assessments and judgments
