What is part time health insurance?

Part time health insurance refers to health coverage options available to employees who work fewer hours than full-time staff, typically less than 30-35 hours per week. Some employers offer health insurance benefits to part-time workers, but eligibility and coverage can vary widely. If employer-sponsored insurance isn't available, part-time employees may seek coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace or other private plans. It's important to compare options to find a plan that fits your medical needs and budget.

What are some common challenges faced by part-time employees when enrolling in health insurance benefits?

Part-time employees often encounter challenges such as limited eligibility for employer-sponsored health insurance, fewer plan options, or higher premiums compared to full-time staff. Additionally, navigating the enrollment process may require extra research to understand available public or private plans if employer coverage is not offered. It's important for part-time workers to carefully review hours-worked requirements and consult HR or benefits coordinators to ensure they don't miss critical enrollment deadlines or potential subsidies.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part-time health insurance agent?

To thrive as a Part-Time Health Insurance Agent, you need a solid understanding of health insurance products, state licensing, and sales fundamentals. Familiarity with CRM software, quoting platforms, and industry certification (such as a state health insurance license) is typically required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, active listening, and the ability to explain complex information clearly make agents stand out. These skills are crucial for building trust, meeting clients’ needs, and maintaining compliance in a highly regulated and client-focused industry.

Description

Join the Mindfully Team - Where Compassion Meets Purpose

At Mindfully, diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the heart of everything we do. As a minority woman-owned company, we are dedicated to creating a supportive environment where every team member feels valued, respected, and empowered.

Our mission is simple yet powerful: to make high-quality mental health care accessible, affordable, and personalized for every individual we serve. We match clients with providers who specialize in their unique needs, ensuring better outcomes for clients and deeper professional satisfaction for our clinicians.

We are seeking a clinician who has weekend availability.

As a mental health professional, you chose this path to make a difference, not to spend your time juggling billing, insurance contracts, credentialing, and administrative work. That's where we come in. At Mindfully, we handle the business side of things so you can focus on what matters most-your clients.

Why Work With Mindfully?

When you join our team, you gain the freedom of private practice with the support of a strong, collaborative community. Our goal is to help you grow, thrive, and maintain a healthy work-life balance while providing exceptional care to your clients.

Here's what we offer:

  • Competitive Compensation - Attractive rates for part-time 1099 contractors ($35-$47/hour, based on license and caseload).
  • Full Administrative Support - We take care of scheduling, billing, insurance, and other behind-the-scenes work.
  • Training & Growth Opportunities - Access to our Mindfully Academy, with paid CEUs and specialized trainings such as DBT, EMDR, trauma, eating disorders, couples counseling, and more.
  • Flexible Schedules - Design a schedule that fits your lifestyle and client needs.
  • Client Matching Technology - Build a caseload aligned with your passions and expertise.
  • Peer Support & Collaboration - Participate in regular peer-to-peer consultations and small pods for connection and professional growth.
  • Wellness Perks - HealthiestYou by Teladoc, Crunch Fitness discounts, and voluntary pet insurance.
  • Autonomy in Practice - Choose the insurance panels you want to work with.
  • Stipends & Incentives - Tenure stipends for maintaining a full caseload, plus monthly stipends for supervisors.
Qualifications:
  • Current, valid license to practice as a clinician in the state of Ohio.
  • Ability to work in-office at our Montgomery, OH location (weekends).
  • Comfortable with a part-time 1099 contractor role.
Compensation:
  • Hourly Pay: $35-$47/hour (based on license type and caseload).
  • Additional Stipends:
    • Tenure stipend for full caseload maintenance.
    • Monthly supervisor stipend (for eligible clinicians).
