About This Role

Currently in search of a part time cook for childcare center.


What You'll Do

Job Summary:

The Child Care Center Cook is responsible for menu planning, planning of groceries and supplies list and daily preparation of nutritious meals and snacks served to the children (ages 12 months to 5 years *or adjust as applicable to age group served at center) enrolled in the center.

The kitchen is to be managed and the work of the Cook is to be conducted in strict compliance with Health Department and all other applicable legislation. The Cook works in consultation with the Center’s Director to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and its coordination with the other programs of the center.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

Kitchen

  • Advance planning of lunch menus and snacks in accordance with the Alpha and Omega Nutrition Program; posting of menus for parents and staff
  • Conduct housekeeping tasks necessary to maintain the kitchen in an organized, clean, safe and hygienic condition always
  • Deliver and collect lunch/snack trays to/from all students
  • Complete clean up after each meal (i.e. dishes, countertops, floors, etc.)
  • Meets with Health Inspector as required to ensure kitchen and practices follow City’s health code.
  • Regular inventory of kitchen equipment and supplies

Requirements
  • High School Diploma Experience as a cook, preferably in a childcare center setting.
  • Familiarity with planning and implementing menus.
  • Ability to work in a positive and productive manner along with the Director.
  • The ability to relate well to children, staff and parents is essential. Valid Standard First Aid and CPR.
  • Negative criminal records check.
