Job description

Are you looking for a rewarding opportunity working with the pediatric population (children birth to 3 years)? Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of families? Thom Child & Family Services located in Marlborough, MA is seeking a part time Haitian Creole Interpreter to join their team.

As an Early Intervention Haitian Creole Interpreter, you will be responsible for assisting Early Intervention Specialists by providing written and verbal interpretation services.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide translating/interpreting services for Early Intervention Specialists and families during community-based visits, center-based visits, group meetings and remote when necessary.
  • Translate written materials such as parent letters, newsletters, narrative reports, IFSPs, and notes.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a team approach to service provision.
  • Maintain compliance with all Thom Child & Family Services policies and procedures/DPH regulations and requirements.

Position Requirements:

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate must be fluent in Haitian Creole/English
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bilingual in Haitian Creole/English required.
  • Ability to translate written materials in the pursuit of service delivery (via text or email).
  • Ability to meet the required competency level in Microsoft Office Software.
