About the Role:

The Medical Assistant / Receptionist 3 plays a critical dual role in healthcare settings by providing both clinical support and front-desk administrative services. This position ensures smooth patient flow by managing appointment scheduling, patient check-ins, and maintaining accurate medical records while also assisting healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and preparing patients for examinations. The role demands a high level of professionalism, empathy, and organizational skills to create a welcoming environment for patients and support efficient healthcare delivery. By effectively coordinating communication between patients, medical staff, and external parties, the Medical Assistant 3 Receptionist 3 contributes significantly to the overall patient experience and operational success of the healthcare facility. This position requires adaptability and multitasking abilities to balance administrative duties with clinical responsibilities seamlessly.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and register patients upon arrival, verifying personal and insurance information accurately.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Answer incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate medical personnel.
  • Assist healthcare providers by taking and recording vital signs, medical histories, and preparing patients for examinations.
  • Maintain and update patient medical records ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Coordinate patient flow to minimize wait times and optimize clinic efficiency.
  • Manage billing and insurance documentation as needed to support administrative processes.
  • Ensure the reception area is organized, clean, and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to facilitate effective communication and patient care.

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent clinical training.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Completion of a medical assistance training


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Medical Assisting or related healthcare field.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from an accredited program preferred
  • Experience with medical billing and coding procedures.
  • Advanced customer service training or certification.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software and telehealth platforms.
