They typically act as surrogate grandparents for families who may not have relatives nearby, offering nurturing care, supervision, and sometimes light household help. Part-time grandmas may work through agencies, community programs, or private arrangements and are valued for their experience, reliability, and warm, familial approach. This role is popular with families seeking trusted, intergenerational care for their children.

Flexibility and strong communication with the family are key, as each household may have unique expectations regarding your involvement. This role often offers a warm, family-like environment where your life experience is highly valued.
